A 55-year-old man whose driver’s licence has been expired for 20 years was arrested by the RNC for impaired driving on Butler’s Road in Pouch Cove Sunday.

The man’s vehicle was seized because he had no insurance and the vehicle wasn’t registered.

The man was charged with impaired driving and refusing a breathalyzer, and issued a number of traffic tickets.

He was released from custody to appear in court at a later date.

once again he was released from custody to go ahead and take another car and drive with no license and insurance. of course people are going to continuously do it since the punishment is a slap on the wrist. lets just hope an accident doesn't occurr and someone is killed.

Illegal driving, drunk driving, unpaid tickets...all just parts of the great Newfie lifestyle. Too bad the 'making a living' part was removed long ago.

Maybe they should put behind bars for the next 20 years. You can guarantee that he won't be driving for the next 20 years without one. What an idiot!!

...and once he's convicted we can see his name and picture where? Rules, laws - these morons just don't care while the rest of us foot the bill for them. Disgusting!
