Police release identity of deceased in car/school bus collision

Police have identified the only victim in a two-vehicle collision that occurred in Grand Falls-Windsor Friday.

Donald Carl Langdon, 22, of Seal Cove on the province's south coast was killed instantly when his car collided with a school bus on Park Street just before 1 p.m. Friday.

There were no children on the bus at the time of the accident. The driver of the bus was unharmed, but taken to the hospital for examination and later released.

Park Street is in a busy residential area of town near several churches, a YMCA, and a primary school.

The RCMP’s Traffic Services Unit is in the process of trying to determine the cause of the crash, but no details are currently available. It was a clear, sunny day with ideal road conditions when the accident occurred.
