On June 14 at 3 a.m. a 23-year-old man was assaulted on Water Street by three or four unknown men, leaving the victim with serious but non life threatening injuries.
Now, RNC officers are looking for witnesses to the incident which occurred near the Franklyn Hotel on Water Street.
The suspects fled on foot.

Townie, it says "near the Franklyn Hotel on Water Street", not George St, right there in the article- the Franklyn Hotel is quite a walk from George St. Also, this was on a late Wed evening/ early Thurs morning. My point being, this was not a "Friday Night George St. dust up"- this was a guy who got jumped, ganged up on and, from the sounds of it, pummelled by a bunch of punks. Huge difference. However, were I a tourist, I'm not sure I would feel that different about either scenario given the apparent randomness and lack of motive. Neither reflects well on the city.
