A 27-year-old woman was arrested overnight in the Portugal Cove/St. Philip’s area for assault and assaulting a police officer.
The woman was also charged with resisting arrest and with mischief. She was held in custody to appear in provincial court today.
The arrest was not the only one RNC had to deal with in the past 24 hours which involved accused persons resisting police officers.
A 19-year-old man was arrested on Queen Street for removing liquor from a licenced bar. The man was also charged with resisting arrest.
He was also held in the lockup overnight for a court appearance today.
Meantime, a 21-year-old man was arrested in the downtown area for mischief after he allegedly broke out the window of a business.
He was held in the lockup for a court appearance today.
A 19-year-old woman was arrested for theft and obstructing a police officer. She was released to appear in court at a later date.
