Canada’s education ministers to meet in Halifax

Education Minister Clyde Jackman and Joan Burke, minister of advanced education and skills, will be in Halifax Thursday and Friday to meet with their counterparts from across the country at the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC).

Provincial education ministers are expected to discuss anti-bullying initiatives, the impact of technology in the classroom, as well as the progress made on priorities such as early childhood development, Aboriginal education, and other issues.

The CMEC is an intergovernmental body composed of ministers responsible for elementary, secondary and advanced education from the provinces and territories.
