ST. JOHN’S, N.L. — Four people were rescued from a fishing vessel that was taking on water in Newfoundland Saturday morning.
A public relations officer for the Department of National Defence says Search and Rescue got the call around 7:30 a.m.
The officer says the fishing boat started taking on water and its pump stopped working, prompting the people to call for help.
There is no word on whether the boat has since sunk.
The fishermen were less than 40 nautical miles east of St. John’s.
