The driver of a truck involved in a single-vehicle accident this morning just outside of St. John’s was transported to hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The truck reportedly hit the edge of the off-ramp from the Trans-Canada Highway joining with Pitts Memorial Drive and overturned.

The driver was trapped in the wreckage and had to be cut free by members of the St. John’s Regional Fire Department.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says they are investigating the cause of the accident.
