Officers, staff return to building that was evacuated after smoke detected

RNC headquarters in St. John’s has been cleared by the St. John’s Regional Fire Department and officers and staff have returned to the building.

The building was evacuated after smoke was detected inside.

A RNC news release notes there was no structural damage and full services and operations will soon be back to normal.

The RNC headquarters in St. John’s was evacuated this afternoon after smoke was noticed in the building.

The St. John’s Regional Fire Department is currently investigating the cause of the smoke, and the RNC is only able to receive 911 calls for service at this time.

RNC expect a short disruption in service, and will issue a notice when services are at full capacity again.
