Local singer-songwriter Ron Hynes will soon be taking a break from his career to undergo surgery.
Hynes’ manager Lynn Horne issued a statement saying the “man of a thousand songs” is dealing with a health issue, but is feeling OK, and will continue with his performance schedule until minor surgery is scheduled in the next few days.
After his surgery, he’ll take a couple weeks off to recuperate, Horne said. She declined to elaborate on Hynes’ condition.
“I’m staying positive and expecting the very best outcome at this time. Thanks to all for your concern and well-wishes,” Hynes said in the statement.
The “Sonny’s Dream” singer/songwriter is a Genie award winner and multiple East Coast Music Award winner. He’s scheduled to perform with The Wonderful Grand Band at Memorial University’s Havin’ a Time: Reunion variety show at Mile One Centre Aug. 11.
