A rainfall warning remains in effect for the areas of Cartwright to Black Tickle and Norman Bay to Lodge Bay, according to Environment Canada.

Around 50 millimetres of rain has fallen thus far at Cartwright with an additional 20 to 30 millimetres yet to come, expected through to Friday morning.

The rain is the result of a low pressure system over Belle Isle Bank that will intensify as it tracks slowly northeastward out to sea today and tonight.

Rain at times heavy associated with this system will continue today and tonight over southeastern Labrador, mainly from Cartwright to Port Hope Simpson. The rain will taper to showers by Friday morning.
