Man dead following single-vehicle crash

A 46-year-old Victoria Cove, Notre Dame Bay, man has died in hospital following a single-vehicle crash early this morning just outside George’s Point.

At 4:51 a.m., Carmanville RCMP arrived on scene and report the man was taken by ambulance to the James Peyton Memorial Hospital in Gander.

At 6:40 a.m., after close to an hour of life-saving procedures by hospital staff, the man was pronounced dead.

The cause of the crash has not been determined and police are continuing to investigate.

The man’s name has not been released, as next of kin are still being notified, report RCMP.
