I attended a Irish Christian Brothers school in Bristol England during the 50/60's and know of the abuse, both physical and emotional/psychological of which these so-called religious men were capable. Their legacy is not not one of which they would be proud

I went to St. Thomas More Collegiate in Burnaby where David Burton, Kevin Short and other Brothers involved in the Mt. Cashel scandal were sent. I watched Burton slap around numerous boys in my math class (and other boys in other classes) my first year there. He happily informed us that he was an accomplished boxer back in Newfoundland. I spoke to the principal, Kevin Short, about it, but nothing was done. No wonder. I was given a ride home by Bro Burton one day. He kept going on about a classmate and how he was such a good boy and all. I am so thankful that nothing more became of it. Sometimes I wonder if that kid was victimized too. I'm sickened that Burton was charged and was still sent to BC to continue his abuse. The further I read into what has happened, the more shocked I am that the Church knew about the goings on and continues to protect and pretty much condone these acts. To the guys who suffered at their hands I pray that things get better and the healing continues. To the perpetrators and their protectors, your time will come and I hope you get all that you so desperately deserve. "As we forgive them that tresspass against us." How can anyone forgive these abusers?

We were in the same class Travis, remember the day he went to town on TW, even though he had the braces on? He used to sign too, we had to do the angels song, " i believe in angels, blah blah blah." G_D Help all the boys they hurt.

Margie, I agree with your comments and sentiments 110%. Well stated, I went to school with many of the guys, and at the time did not know the horrors that they were going through.
