The Beaumont Hamel is out of service again.
Transportation and Works says the ferry was taken off the Portugal Cove-Bell Island run after an electrical issue was identified Tuesday evening.
The vessel is now being examined by an expert contractor. The MV Flanders is maintaining the service on a load and go basis.
A spokesman said a new system that monitors electrical fluctuations alerted the crew of the problem last night. The system was installed during recent repairs and upgrades.
This is just the latest trouble with the Beaumont Hamel.
It was put out of commission for about month-and-a-half on May 30, after it lost reverse propulsion and collided with the dock in Portugal Cove-St. Philip's.
On Friday morning, it was taken out of service for a couple of hours due to a problem with its bow thruster.
Transportation and Works says it will provide additional information as soon as possible about when the MV Beaumont Hamel will resume service.
