Keep the sprinklers off.
The towns of Paradise, Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s, and Holyrood have all issued temporary water use restrictions.
Paradise and Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s are currently dealing with system maintenance issues, and are asking for residents to restrict their outdoor water use by not watering lawns and gardens, and not washing cars for the next few days.
The water level in Bay Bulls Big Pond is approximately 1.5 feet below the 2011 level, and is about 10 feet higher than it was in 2009.
The town of Holyrood is also asking residents not to use water for outdoor purposes through a message posted on the town’s Facebook page.
The town has experienced water shortages recently that were attributed to a leak in a water main.
The leak has since been fixed, but the town is still experiencing water shortage issues, prompting the town to issue the water conservation advisory.
