Morgan John Taylor, whose dangerous driving resulted in the death of Port aux Basques resident Chris Farrell in January 2011, was sentenced to 26 months in prison today in provincial court at Port aux Basques.

Taylor has already served four months in custody leaving him with 22 months of the sentence to serve.

He will also be placed on probation for three years upon his release, and be subject to an eight-year driving prohibition.

Taylor, 48, was charged with dangerous driving causing death after striking Farrell who had been walking along the side of the road in Port aux Basques.

Jeanne it is very ovious it was NOT your child that was walking the street innocent!! I cannot believe you would pick up for such a person as Mr. Taylor as you call him...He DID get off easy...too easy...and yes he should be put on the street so the people can run him over like that poor innocent boy was. The family now suffers forever and Mr. Taylor only has 26 months!! What an insult!! Sickening!!!

Jeanne, this God person you speak of, you must be referring to the same guy that sits back and watches thousands of innocent children die everyday. Anyways, yes, the punishment is a joke, he should be ran over as well, if he survives good for him, if not, good for him.

Whatever happened to compassion for persons with indescribably difficult illnesses. Yes, a life was lost. Perhaps it was unnecessary....only God knows that. Ignorance and hatred are what is wrong with our present civilization. People with this lust for vengeance should not hide behind words....they should enlist in the military where they could satisfy their thirst for blood and do some good at the same time. Mr. Taylor did not get off easy....he will suffer every day until his life ends. The judge did not just blithely give out her sentence....she actually took the time to study and understand each and every aspect of this most complex case. Her decision was rendered most justly. She is to be commended.

This is an absolute disgrace to the victim's family! This idiot should have gotten a sentence to spend the rest of his miserable life behind bars. What a joke this is! Such a shame!
