RNC investigating cause of overnight fire that destroyed home

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is continuing to investigate a residential fire on Kings Hill Road in Portugal Cove–St. Philip’s that destroyed a home early this morning.

The residents of the home got out safely, however, the family dog is unaccounted for at this time.

RNC patrol officers and firefighters from the Portugal Cove–St. Philip’s Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire about 2:45 a.m.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time, but it is not believed to be suspicious in nature.

    Don't they have a Volunteer Fire Dept,??
