A 42-year-old woman has received an eight-month conditional sentence for defrauding a lawyer she worked for of almost $23,000.

Kimberley Marie Goulding, who now lives in Alberta, also received 12 months probation. She must also pay $12,913.37 to the St. John's lawyer she worked for and $10,000 to the insurance company, The Co-operators, by March 1, 2014.

Goulding pleaded guilty to one count of fraud over $5,000. A second charge for mischief by destroying data was withdrawn.

I think that Ms. Goulding should have to submit a message of apology to her former employor (publicly) .... those who desire to become professionals are often saddled with tremendous bills and overhead especially when starting out. The money belonged to her boss and was not there for Goulding's benefit. I can only imagine how betrayed she must feel.
