Car fire blocks traffic on access ramp

A car on fire blocked traffic over the lunch hour on the ramp heading east into St. John’s at the intersection of Pitts Memorial Drive and the Trans-Canada Highway.

The female driver of the vehicle was not injured.

The RNC and the St. John’s Regional Fire Department responded to the scene which saw the car extensively damaged.

Traffic was blocked on the ramp while crews cleaned up the scene and RNC officers investigated.
