Man dies near Tilt Cove

A man was thrown from his Sea-Doo on the water near Tilt Cove on the north shore of Newfoundland on Saturday and did not survive.

Baie Verte RCMP got the call at 3:16 p.m. It was reported to be a drowning but the man's cause of death has yet to be officially determined.

The police report of the incident says that witnesses saw the man get thrown from his Sea-Doo. A few people swam out to retrieve him and the vehicle.

They performed CPR until paramedics arrived and took over. He was taken to the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre by ambulance but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

The man has been identified as being a 50-year-old resident of La Scie.

He was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the accident.

The RCMP is continuing its investigation.

    A man also drowned in Cavendish. Wondering why only VOCM is reporting this...It happened yesterday.
