RNC report busy night in St. John’s

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating several reports of domestic disturbances that occurred Wednesday in the St. John’s area.

Around 3 p.m., patrol members responded to a disturbance at a St. John*s home. As a result a female youth was arrested for uttering threats and breaches of court orders.  She was held for court.

At 7:30 p.m., members responded to a report of a disturbance in a home on Hoyles Ave St. John*s. A 36-year-old man and a 32-year-old female were arrested for common assault. Both were released to appear in court at a later date.

At 8:45 p.m., RNC patrol members responded to a report of a theft and an assault at a residence on Livingstone Street St. John*s. A 49-year-old man was arrested for robbery with violence. He was released to appear in court at a later date. Both the accused and the victim are said to be known to each other.

Also at 7:49 p.m., patrol officers responded to the Black Head area where a woman with special needs was reported missing in the area.

The Rovers, RNC K9 unit and several uniformed officers were sent to the location where she was last seen. The woman was located within a couple of hours by the K9 unit and uniformed members of the RNC in a wooded area not too far from where she was last seen.

She was returned home without any injuries.

RNC members also responded with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department to a report of a house fire in a mobile home on Riverside Drive Goulds. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
