HALIFAX — A Newfoundland woman is in Halifax searching for her missing father after the 82-year-old man left his nursing home and boarded a ferry to Nova Scotia.

Tina Noel says her father, William Francis King, left his nursing home in Stephenville Crossing, N.L., and withdrew money from his bank account before taking the ferry Saturday to North Sydney, N.S.

Noel says she is concerned because her father has dementia.

Police in Halifax say there have been reported sightings of King in the city in recent days.

They say they are worried for King’s safety and are asking the public for help in locating him.

Police say King is described as aboriginal, six-foot and 170 pounds with white hair and a moustache.
