The Woodward's Service Station in Happy Valley-Goose Bay was robbed by a weapon-wielding man just before 9 p.m. Thursday night.
A lone man entered the gas station on the corner of Loring Drive and Hamilton River Road, demanded money from the person on duty, then fled, RCMP report.
The man is described as being in his 20s, 5’8” to 6’ tall, with a slender build.
The type of weapon or amount money stolen is not being disclosed.
In an update, RCMP are reminding business owners and employees to be aware of crime prevention strategies such as adequate lighting around buildings, keeping nearby bushes trimmed, limiting the amount of cash kept on hand, and having two or more people on staff at all times.
Police also recommend ensuring video recording equipment is installed and functioning.
