Trinity-Conception district RCMP are investigating two traffic accidents that occurred Friday.

Officers were called to the scene of a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in Western Bay around 11:30 p.m. Friday

The driver was taken to hospital with minor scrapes and bruises. Speed is believed to be a factor and the matter is still under investigation.

In another collision, a driver of a vehicle swerved to avoid a dog and drove off the road into a ditch in Carbonear.

The driver and passenger were not wearing seatbelts. Both were taken to hospital with minor injuries and released. The police say tickets were issued for the seatbelt violations.
