Contracts valued at about $6.2 million have been announced in Labrador for Department of National Defence (DND) and Canadian Forces (CF) infrastructure projects and remediation activities under the Goose Bay Remediation Project (GBRP).

Among them, Crown Contracting Inc. of Mount Pearl has been awarded a contract for more than $1 million worth of work to repair concrete around the  5 Wing Goose Bay airfield’s ramp and apron areas adjacent to the terminal.

5 Wing Goose Bay facilitates more than 35,000 takeoffs and landings per year. In 2011, more than 700 military aircraft accounted for close to 3,000 of those air movements.
