A Cougar helicopter flight on route to Hibernia on Monday had to return to base after what the C-NLOPB is describing as a “minor issue."

The turn around was prompted by a problem with the tension adjustments on the one of the flight controls.

There were 13 passengers and two pilots on board.

This is the second time in three days that a Cougar helicopter has run into a problem while in the air.

Another helicopter was escorted back to base on Saturday when the crew got an indicator light showing a fire in one of the vehicle's engines. That turned out to be false alarm.

Its just a matter of time till myself or my co-workers drop from the sky again. It sure makes it hard on all our mothers, our wives and our children when they hear about all the problems with Cougar. I go back offshore next week, I love my job but it gets harder to fly each hitch. We play chopper roulette every 3 wks when we climb aboard a cougar. Hopefully a change comes before another crew has to die.
