Labrador man to face armed robbery charges

RCMP in Happy Valley-Goose Bay arrested a 22-year-old man in a home in the town this morning in relation to a an armed robbery reported Wednesday.

According to police, a complaint was received shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday that two men were walking together when one of them pulled a knife and held to the other man’s throat, robbing him of $300.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene on a bicycle.

The victim, who was from Hopedale, was not injured during the incident.

Attempts Wednesday failed to locate the suspect.

Shortly before 10 a.m. today, the RCMP arrested the suspect at a residence without incident. He will appear in provincial court in the town later today to face charges related to robbery.
