Salmon rivers reopen

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans announced Monday that thanks to improved environmental conditions, 27 salmon rivers in Newfoundland and Labrador will reopen to anglers on Tuesday.

According to the news release, several rivers located in salmon fishing areas 8, 9, and 10 will once again be open to angling at one hour before sunrise on Tuesday.

Rivers set to re-open include Renews River, Biscay Bay River, several rivers and brooks in St. Mary's Bay, Salmonier River, and several rivers in Placentia Bay and in the Burin area, amongst others.
