A fire investigator is expected on the scene today to investigate a house fire on Empire Avenue in St. John's.

The fire was reported to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary at 9:26 p.m. Monday. Police say there were no injuries but damage was moderate.

The RNC responded to 152 calls for service during the past 24 hours.

Among them, around 6:21 p.m. Monday, a 37-year-old man in the downtown area of St. John's was charged with six breaches of court orders.

Around 8:58 p.m., police responded to a moose-vehicle collison on Torbay Road in the area of Metal World. There were no injuries but damage was moderate. The female driver was the only person in the vehicle and was heading south at the time of the collision. The moose fled into a nearby wooded area.

The RNC also arrested and charged a 40-year-old woman with two counts of assault, uttering threats, assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest, following a reported disturbance in a St. John's west end home. She was held in custody until a court appearance.

A 32-year-old man from Conception Bay North was apprehended by police and also held for a court appearance. He was arrested on four outstanding warrants for failing to appear in court, theft under $5,000, possession of goods obtained by crime and breach of a court order.
