Two youths, ages 15 and 17, are facing arson charges in connection with a house fire in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
The fire was reported around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday.
According to the RCMP, an investigation revealed that two youths were responsible for starting the fire. A short time later, two teens were arrested.
A garage and vehicle parked in the driveway were also damaged.
Police said the owner was home at the time and reacted quickly to extinguish the fire. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
The two youths face one charge of arson each. They were released on strict conditions and into the care of their parents. They will be appearing in provincial court in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Nov. 16 at 9:30 a.m. to answer to the charges.
The RCMP in Happy Valley-Goose Bay are also investigating another house fire in the town Tuesday, which took firefighters several hours to extinguish.
There was no one home at the time of this fire which extensively damaged the inside of the home.
An RCMP fire investigator, along with a Fire and Emergency Services fire investigator examined this scene this morning and determined that the fire is not suspicious.
