The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit is requesting the assistance of the general public in identifying the persons responsible for a robbery in the Mundy Pond area of St. John’s on Saturday.
Around 8:30 p.m., RNC patrol services officers, the K9 Unit, Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Section responded to a complaint of a robbery in the Mundy Pond area.
A 50-year-old man was walking in the area near the east end of the pond, when pollice say the suspects demanded cash and other personal items from him. The victim sustained injuries that were not life threatening.
The first male suspect is described as being about 28 years old, 6’4” to 6’5” in height, with short brown hair that is shaved on the sides. He is also said to have a Republic of Newfoundland tattoo on his neck, pink, white and green in colour.
The other two suspects are described as about 15 years old, dressed in baggy jeans. It‘s believed the suspects headed toward Blackler Avenue.
