A 59-year-old woman was the victim of a single motor vehicle accident Thursday night on a residential property on Harbourview Avenue in St. John’s.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s accident investigation section is continuing its investigation into the incident.

Police say around 7:27 p.m., they received a report of a person injured by a vehicle. Officers from the RNC patrol services, forensic identification, accident investigation and Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene.

According to the RNC, it appears the vehicle, which was not being operated by anyone, shifted in the driveway. The 59-year-old woman who was injured was later pronounced deceased by medical practitioners. Next of kin  are being notified and out of respect to the family members, the RNC say they will not be releasing the name of the deceased at this time.

Anyone who has any information in relation to this incident is asked to contact the RNC Accident Investigation Section at 729-8654 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Information can also be provided anonymously on the N.L. Crime Stoppers Website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.

You have your details mixed up. The lady who was killed was on Harbourview Ave off Torbay Road and the other accident with person and his dog was in Airport Heights.
