Bay St George RCMP have seized 58 marijuana plants from a series of outdoor grow-ops in the Piccadilly area.

The RCMP said in a news release five clearings were located Monday in a wooded area near Piccadilly on the Port au Port Peninsula. The clearings were within walking distance of each other and all had numerous marijuana plants growing in them. Several had boards with nails sticking out of them hidden around the perimeter of the plants.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing, and charges have not been laid against anyone at this time.

The RCMP is reminding the public not to approach a marijuana grow-op, as it can be dangerous. Anyone finding what they believe to be a marijuana grow-op can call their nearest police detachment or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-363-8477.

Who cares. Stop wasting my tax dollars. Plenty of people grow this legally already. Legalize it, tax it, regulate it and stop wasting my money. The police here just try to justify their own existence.
