A collision between an ATV and a tractor trailer in Grand Bank has left a 27-year-old man from that community with severe injuries, according to the RCMP.

The crash was about 7:45 a.m., at the intersection of Cemetery Road and Marine Drive in Grand Bank.

The 27-year-old was the driver of the ATV. Immediately following the crash, he was transported by ambulance to the Grand Bank Medical Clinic and then transferred to the Burin Hospital. "And, now he's being transported to St. John's, RCMP Staff Sgt. Wayne Edgecombe said.

His injuries are not considered to be life threatening, police have stated.

Stupidity is incurable. Why did a collision between an ATV and a tractor trailer occur if the ATV was where he should be? At intersection of Cemetery Road and Marine Drive in Grand Bank??? This has left a 27-year-old man from that community with severe injuries, according to the RCMP.... He is lucky--he should be a Darwin Award candidate... Meanwhile I hate for my precious health care $$ to be expended for this stupidity....
