Teen arrested for property damage, assault with a weapon

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating an incident in the Cowan Heights area of St. John’s in which a 15-year-old male was arrested for property damage and assault with a weapon.

The report of an altercation in the area came in to police around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say there were no injuries and the two people were known to each other. The teenager was held in custody for a court appearance.

Also, on Tuesday police responded to a report around 6:30 a.m. from a concerned citizen of an impaired driver involved in a motor vehicle accident in the area of Ropewalk Lane.

The owner of the vehicle had reported his vehicle stolen and, as a result of this investigation, a 29-year-old man was charged with public mischief, Impaired driving refusing the breathalyzer.

Summary tickets were also issued for no insurance, no drivers licence and failing to notify the registrar of change of ownership. The man was held in custody for a court appearance.

A 51-year-old man was also charged, as a result of a traffic stop, with operating a vehicle without insurance. His vehicle was seized and several other highway traffic tickets issued.

    look up court dockets for newfoundland you will see every one thats charged asnd the date they appear in court , you may be surprised who you see there .

    Why is it we do not hear the names of these people? Don,t you think we have a right to know that these people could be our neighbors? We need to protect our children and ourselves from these drunk drivers.
