The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s general investigation unit is hoping to speak to two women who may have witnessed a suspicious man in the area of No Name Pizza on Ropewalk Lane Monday night.

An investigation is continuing into an armed robbery of a delivery driver in the Ropewalk Lane area around 2:20 a.m. Tuesday.

According to police, a male suspect confronted the employee outside the business with a knife and demanded cash. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. The employee sustained a minor injury that did not require medical attention.

The male suspect is described as approximately 5’7” and at the time of the incident was wearing a dark hoodie, black gloves, and a blue ski mask concealing his face.

Anyone with information that would assist in identifying the person responsible or anyone that may have any information in relation to this crime is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be provided anonymously on the NL Crime Stoppers website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.

    Or we could legalize drugs and watch crime disappear almost completely. We have a lot of alcohol addicts in this city but they are not robbing stores because alcohol is cheap and readily available. Why don't we do the same with all the other drugs? WILLY- Most of the people on this planet have committed crimes. What's your point? We should start arresting people without cause? Or just arresting people we deem to be of a lesser moral fiber than ourselves?

    There's going be more and more of these stories till we get another methadone clinic there needs to be a long term drug recovery center the more drugs around the more crimes it's sad to the city turning into this

      So if we get the clinic crime will go down Ok, so that means most of the people who go to the clinic have committed crimes so open the clinic and arrest them as they walk in the door.
