The RCMP is advising motorists to be aware of the risk of hydroplaning when driving in rain or where water has accumulated on the road after a rainfall.
Officers in Grand Falls-Windsor were called to a single-vehicle collision today around 12:15 p.m. The car was traveling east when it hydroplaned and left the road coming to rest on top of a guardrail just west of Grand Falls-Windsor. The lone occupant was not injured in the collision.
To help reduce the likelihood of hydroplaning, the police are advising drivers to decrease their speed and ensure all tires have adequate tread to displace water.
