The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in St. John’s responded to several reports Monday that led to impaired driving charges.
Police received a report around 10:30 a.m. of people throwing beer bottles out of a vehicle being operated in Petty Harbor-Maddox Cove. The vehicle was located on Route 10 in the Goulds area of St. John’s.
A 22-year-old driver was charged with operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit and impaired driving. The man was released from custody to appear in court at a later date.
The RNC also received a report around 11 a.m. of a person with open liquor in a vehicle operating on Route 10. A 44-year-old man was charged with driving while prohibited.
He was also issued summary offence tickets for having open liquor in a vehicle, operating a vehicle without insurance and operating a vehicle with a suspended license. The man was detained for court and the vehicle was impounded.
Around 230 p.m. the RNC received a report of a possible impaired driver on the Trans-Canada Highway near Paddy's Pond. The vehicle was located in Mount Pearl a short time later.
An investigation led to a 22-year-old man being charged with operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit and impaired driving. He was released to appear in court at a later date.
Around 12:57 p.m., the RNC also received a report of a man committing an indecent act on Casey Street in St. John's. An investigation led to the arrest of a 60-year-old man who has been charged with committing an Indecent act. The man has been detained to appear in court.
The RNC responded to a disturbance at a residence in Mount Pearl around 9 p.m. A 13-year-old male was arrested for uttering threats and breach
of court order. He was held in custody for a court appearance.
Around 10:25 p.m., police received a report of a disturbance at an east end residence. A 15-year-old male was taken into custody for property damage. and was held for a court appearance.
