The RNC arrested two drivers early this morning in St. John’s and charged them with impaired driving.

About 2:30 a.m., the RNC received a call from a concerned citizen of a possible impaired driver on Water Street.

The vehicle was located in the Henry Street area and a 29-year-old male driver was charged with impaired driving and refusing the breathalyser.

He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act for driving while suspended, driving an unregistered vehicle, and driving with no insurance.

The vehicle impounded and the driver held for a court appearance today.

About 3:50 a.m. today, the RNC stopped a vehicle on Canada Drive and the 21-year-old male driver was charged with impaired driving. He was released to appear in provincial court at a later date.
