A woman was caught trying to bring marijuana into Natuashish by taping packs of it to her body.

On Wednesday, the RCMP in Natuashish acted on recent tips regarding people trafficking drugs into the community by commercial aircraft.

Members of Natuashish detachment and Labrador relief team arrested the 19-year-old Sheshatshui woman at the Natuashish airstrip after she arrived on a flight from Goose Bay. Police say they seized about 311 grams of marijuana. She was charged under Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. A court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 27.

I think it was a great job by the police, I think she will get away with it, because if she don't her people will cry foul & the justice dept will give in like always. I think she should get whatever sentence that fits the crime. If it was me the justice dept. would throw me in jail then throw away the key. Way to RCMP

If it wasn't for the steady stream of negative and depressing news coming out of Natuashish, there would be no news coming out of Natuashish.

Natuashish could be used as a case study, in any educational setting, about the complete failure that is Prohibition. She'll be charged, her life will go down the toilet, hundreds of thousands of dollars will be spent on her case, and the liquor and drugs will keep coming no matter what

I guess now the locals will be going back to sniffing gas. Great job police. Didn't think that one through did you. How much of my tax dollars are going to be wasted prosecuting this silly case?
