The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in Corner Brook is continuing to investigate an attempted break and entry into a home in the Rosedale Street area of the city.
Around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, RNC patrol services officers responded to a call of a break and entry in progress. It was reported that a 62-year-old woman inside the home heard a banging noise outside and observed two males attempting to enter through the rear door of the home. When she spotted them, they fled the area into a nearby wooded area.
RNC officers and police dog Biff searched the area but were not able to locate the suspects. Police say they were possibly teenagers, wearing a white jacket and blue jacket.
The RNC reminds the general public to secure access to their homes and properties and asks the public to report any suspicious activity they witness.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the RNC at 709-637-4100 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). People can also provide information anonymously on the N.L. Crime Stoppers Website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
