Marine Atlantic will tie up its vessels after they dock this evening from this morning’s crossings to and from Port aux Basques and North Sydney on the gulf run.

The vessels departing this morning will dock in advance of severe weather patterns and stay tied up until at least Wednesday afternoon.

All crossings on the Argentia run for today and Tuesday were already cancelled and there will also be no sailings on that run until at least Wednesday afternoon.

Marine Atlantic’s customer service representatives will be contacting customers with reservations to rebook.

(Earlier story)

Because of the forecasted extreme rough seas as a result of hurricane Leslie, Marine Atlantic’s sailings to and from Argentia and North Sydney, N.S. are cancelled for today and Tuesday.

The forecast for the gulf crossing — between Port aux Basques and North Sydney — looks to be OK this morning, so the sailing at 11 a.m. will go ahead.

Tonight’s to and from sailings for Port aux Basques and North Sydney are cancelled unless the forecast drastically changes.

Tuesday morning’s crossings to and from Port aux Basques and North Sydney may also be affected, as well as the rest of the day’s schedule.

Passengers who have reservations on any affected sailings will be contacted by Marine Atlantic’s customer services representatives and will be rebooked.
