The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating a pedestrian-vehicle collision that occurred Tuesday around 9:50 p.m.

According to police, a 23-year-old man was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The RNC in the St. John’s area responded to 225 calls Tuesday and early Wednesday morning.

At 3 a.m. today, a 22-year-old woman was charged with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol level above the legal limit, following a traffic stop in the Kenmount Road area. She was released until a court appearance.

Police also responded to a boiler room fire at the Waterford Hospital around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The RNC said the fire was contained to the boiler room and there were no injuries.

There were also several reports of storm-related damage, that resulted in road closures during the day.

Police say motorists are reminded to use extreme caution today as several traffic lights are still not functioning at some intersections.
