In our area we also had recent cabin break-ins. However, we do have a locked gate but most owners do not co-operate by keeping this gate locked between Sunday night and Friday afternoon. Those thieves must be laughing at our stupidy or laziness in not taking the time to guarantee the safety of our own cabins and possessions. Most of the large thefts could have been avoided if the gate was locked at the noted times. What's the good of having it there if it's left open all the time?

Don't expect any punishment for the offenders. Here are some facts about B & E's (although a little dated) Here are avg days of jail time within each province for B & Es. NS 337, NL 92, Que 275, PEI 270, SK 245, AB 236 and Ont 190. These are facts from the Fraser Institute. We are be;low avg by 118 days and by far the lowest. http://oldfraser.lexi.net/publications/forum/1998/march/courts.html
