The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) in Corner Brook has charged a 33 -year-old man from the city with assault and mischief by causing damage to property.
On Sunday, around 9 p.m., RNC street patrol officers received a complaint from a 41-year-old woman that she had been assaulted by a male acquaintance who had also damaged her vehicle by kicking it.
The RNC said the incident occurred in the Riverside Drive area of Corner Brook. The woman filed a report at RNC headquarters.
The man was arrested and detained at Her Majesty’s Penitentiary lockup until a court appearance today.
The RNC is continuing its investigation and is seeking the assistance of the general public.
