RCMP investigating late night armed robbery at bar

The Burin Peninsula RCMP is investigating an armed robbery that occurred late night Sunday in a bar in Marystown.

About midnight, the lone bartender was preparing to close when a person, believed to be a male, entered the bar holding a weapon. The suspect demanded money and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The bartender was not injured.

Police are requesting any one with information about this incident to call the Marystown RCMP at (709) 279-3001 or to provide their information to Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS

The punishment is so lax for these things we see them daily and even in smaller towns.
