More than $5 million in provincial government funding is being allocated through the 2012-14 multi-year capital works program for municipal infrastructure upgrades in the Town of Paradise.
The total investment, including a contribution by the Town of Paradise, is about $7.6 million.
Municipal Affairs minister Kevin O’Brien outlined details of the funding today at the Paradise Town Hall.
The funding will support upgrades to Karwood Drive, replacement of a regional water line and upgrading and widening of Topsail Road.
“This investment will allow for upgrades of two major roads in the town and replacement of a waterline,” said O’Brien. “The Town of Paradise is experiencing significant growth in recent years and our government is pleased to continue to provide the necessary financial support to help the town respond to the increasing demands through enhanced municipal infrastructure.”
Paradise Mayor Ralph Wiseman said the town is pleased to partner with the provincial government to provide much needed improvements in infrastructure for the residents of Paradise and surrounding communities.

TURRY, you still ignore the facts that even St. John's business tout that if outsiders stopped spending in St. John's, they would have a difficult time making it. They do contribute to St. John's in many ways, and most don't even carry "brown bags" anymore, but buy lunch in St. John's, and not just a coffe at Tims. And St. John's also gets grants from the province and the federal government that comes from everyone's pockets. And I state again too that city folks go out of town and use the infrastructure in those towns, and scatter their trash all over, and clog our street and roads. However we welcome them as we know they will shop in CBS, Paradise and all over Conception Bay North, Torbay etc. Your arguments and points are very one sided, your eyes and mind are closed to the whole picture, you just don't get it do you? Luckily there is only a tiny minority like you in St. John's.
