A young boy was struck by a car on Hamlyn Road Thursday evening. The boy only received minor injuries and was examined by members of the St. John's Regional fire department until a family member arrived.

It was the second accident in less than two hours in the area.

The incident slowed traffic around Hamlyn Road and Curling Place until the scene could be cleared by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.
