A 32-year-old man from Sheshatshiu is facing 14 criminal charges in connection with an incident Thursday night in the town.
Around 6:45 p.m., the RCMP says they were called to a home where an intoxicated man was causing a disturbance outside and had a firearm.
At the time of this incident, a woman and two small children were inside the home.
Police say the suspect entered the home but a short time later the woman and two children walked out.
The man then left the residence and was immediately arrested. No shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident.
A firearm was seized near the home.
The male suspect is expected to appear in Happy Valley-Goose Bay provincial court this afternoon for a bail hearing.
Meanwhile, the RCMP in Nain are investigating a physical assault that occurred in the community Thursday afternoon.
Police say a 22-year-old woman from Nain was physically assaulted by her 30-year-old boyfriend. She was taken to the Safe House (Women's Shelter) with her children and the male suspect has since been arrested.
The investigation into this occurrence is still on-going and police say alcohol is believed to be a factor in this incident.
