Man charged with being impaired three times over legal limit

A 54-year-old Green’s Harbour man was charged early Thursday afternoon with impaired driving and being three times over the legal limit.

The RCMP Placentia/Whitbourne arrested the man about 1:10 p.m. Thursday after responding to an anonymous complaint of a possible impaired driver in Green's Harbour.

The vehicle was located and the driver provided samples of his breath of 240 and 220 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood. As a result, he was issued a 90-day provincial suspension, charged under the Criminal Code and is to appear in court at Harbour Grace at a later date to answer to a charges of impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood.
