Five people have been sent to hospital following a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of Stavanger Drive and Torbay Road Monday night. The accident happened when two northbound vehicles waiting at a red light were struck from behind by a third car that was apparently travelling at a high rate of speed. There were six people in total in the three vehicles. The road was closed for more than an hour until the wrecks could be removed from the scene. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

It was a long time ago but I learned a lesson the hard way. I pulled up behind a pickup on Empire Avenue that was making a left turn. I was too close. Two off duty policemen coming behind me were oogling a mini-skirted ditty walking on the sidewalk. Wham! They rammed me and drove me into the pickup in front. Damage to my car, a beautiful Fury II was heavy, front and back. Now, I leave a full car length between me and the vehicle in front when stopped. Frustrating when the nutbeam behind me is right up my tailpipe;.
